I’m Sander Visser (1977), a figurative painter with a strong focus on portraits and the human figure. My fascination with the human subject deepened when I discovered the work of artists like Breitner, Israëls and Singer Sargent. Their way of seeing, the loose brushwork, and their sensitive handling of light and posture sparked something in me that I continue to explore in my own work.
Read more →In 2023, I participated in the popular Dutch TV show "Sterren op het Doek", broadcast by Omroep Max. The episode featured an interview with well-known radio and TV presenter Tineke de Nooij, led by Özcan Akyol. During the show, three artists — Gaby Haerkens, Gudie Agten, and myself — were commissioned to paint portraits of Tineke de Nooij.
