What defines a portrait?
A portrait is an image in which the subject is clearly recognizable. The crop largely determines the mood — from a close-up of eyes, nose, and mouth to a classic head-and-shoulders view or a full-length figure.
What is the ideal format for a portrait?
Various formats are possible depending on your preference. A 40 x 50 cm canvas is ideal for a classic portrait. For a full-body portrait, 50 x 70 or 70 x 90 cm are great options. Smaller works on A4 or A3 oil paper are also available and easy to frame under glass.

How is the painting made?
An oil portrait is built up in multiple layers of paint. Each layer needs to dry, so the process usually takes several weeks to a few months. The result: a durable, traditionally crafted piece of art.

All paintings are created on high-quality linen canvas and based on a photo of your choice. Frames are not included so you can choose one that matches your style.
